Nagate Ayaka has announced on her official blog that she is now pregnant with her first child!

The ex-Hello! Project idol was well-known for being the last remaining member of Coconuts Musume, her participation in multiple shuffle units, and her highly popular “Ayaka’s Surprise English Lessons” segment on Bishoujo Kyouiku. After departing from Hello! Project and Up-Front Agency, she changed her name to “Nagate Ayaka” and went on to marry professional golfer Tanihara Hideto in 2008.

The message on Ayaka’s official blog reads:
“It’s cherry blossom season, isn’t it?
When it became April, there were some things that I’ve been thinking about saying here for some time now. ‘When should I?’ I thought, but it’s something that’s very important for me… Since it’s something that I want to go ahead and record on my own blog, I wrote it…
Right now, there’s a baby in my stomach. Because it’s my first experience (with pregnancy), it’s not something I’ve ever felt until now, and I spend every day thinking about all sorts of things.
I still can’t imagine myself becoming a mother, but… I’ll try very hard to be careful and take care of myself every day!
