Nagoya-based popular idol group SKE48’s 5th single, “BANZAI Venus”, has sold 207,000 copies in its first week, and is now SKE48’s first 1st place finish on Oricon’s Weekly Single Ranking chart. Their previous single, “1! 2! 3! 4! YOROSHIKU!”, sold 171,000 copies, so this is a personal best for SKE48.

The group debuted a year and a half ago, and their debut single, “Tsuyoki Mono yo”, entered Oricon at #5.  Their 2nd single ,“Aozora Kataomoi”, and 3rd single, “Gomen ne, SUMMER”, came in 3rd, and their previous single, “1! 2! 3! 4! YOROSHIKU”, came in at #2.
