The two well-known “hypermarket” chains, JUSCO and SATY, have been united into one big chain by AEON, the largest retailer in Asia, and are officially going to be renamed “AEON” on March 1st.

Young actress Takei Emi, who is currently on the verge of her big breakthrough, will become the image character for the new stores.

The first campaign will feature the actress in a neat and clean school uniform. Her face is going to welcome the shoppers on every floor, and the TV commercials are going to have the atmosphere of an ordinary schoolgirl coming across all the wonderful things you can discover in the stores. At first, there will be three different commercials: “Nice to meet you,” “One by one,” and “On the street.”

In the posters, the caption claims that AEON is Takei Emi’s favorite shopping place, and it doesn’t seem to be too far away from the truth. She said, “During the holidays, me and my friends always went to AEON. We also bought my first bicycle there. It’s a place full of precious childhood memories, and it will always stay an important place for me.”

Throughout March, AEON is going to hold a “HAPPY NEW AEON SALE” to celebrate its reorganization.

Takei herself is going to star in her first drama, “Asuko March!” (TV Asahi, April), next season.
