IU started out as a small character on “Dream High“, but as the series progressed, her ‘ugly duckling’ persona quickly became an important role.

IU’s representative spoke with Newsen on January 25th, and said: “When we first got the synopsis, we knew this character would be a fat and ugly one who transforms into a pretty girl. But as the character became more developed, her part definitely got bigger.”

The rep added, “The script isn’t always completed before filming starts, so we don’t know how things got developed to this point; still, her part on the show definitely became bigger than we expected. She’s very happy about it and is having fun.”

He concluded, “She comes back as the beautiful IU from the chubby Pilsook, although she said it’s easier to act as the chubby Pilsook. Please look forward to her acting because she is doing her best.”


“Dream High”, “Athena”, and “Win Win” will not air new episodes on January 25th

最近由於演員鄭宇成的受傷，電視劇“雅典娜戰爭女神”決定原定於1月25日播出的劇集該由特別節目“秀愛的秘密”代替。另外，25日晚9時50分開始的電視劇“Dream High”也因為亞洲杯半決賽韓國對日本的比賽宣佈停播。同時，綜藝節目“乘風破浪”也受到了影響。

由於現在“雅典娜”、“Dream High”和“逆轉女王”三部電視劇的競爭非常激烈，今日“逆轉女王”是否能逆轉收視率也讓人非常期待。另外，24日播出的電視劇中，“Dream High”憑藉15.9%的收視率以微弱優勢領跑，其次是15.2%的“逆轉女王”以及14.8%的“雅典娜”。

It looks like drama fans will be fairly disappointed, as two of Korea’s hottest dramas have revealed that they won’t be able to air a new episode tonight.

We’ve already reported that “Athena” won’t be able to broadcast a new episode due to actor Jung Woo Sung’s injury. As for “Dream High,” the high school teen drama will be replaced by the airing of the 2011 AFC Asian Cup semi-final clash between South Korea and Japan on January 25th.亞洲杯日本對南韓

The usual broadcast of the variety program “Win Win” will also be affected tonight.

Considering how “Athena”, “Dream High”, and “Queen of Reversals” are all equally popular for their time-slot, it could be an ample opportunity for “Queen of Reversals” to take the lead in viewership ratings tonight. “Dream High” scored a 15.9% rating on January 24th to cement the #1 spot while “Athena” achieved 14.8%, and “Queen of Reversals” nabbed 15.2%.

Kim Soo Hyun and Suzy teamed up for an impressive duet performance, which will be aired on this week’s episode of KBS 2TV’s “Dream High“!

The two took charge of the opening stage for the entrance class’ first showcase performance. The stage is an especially important one, as it managed to draw ‘Sam Dong‘ (Kim Soo Hyun)’s mother into the audience.

Sam Dong was both happy and nervous about his mother watching, and so ‘Hyemi‘ (Suzy) decided to help ease his nerves by holding tightly onto his hand as they performed Sam Dong’s self-compsed track, “Maybe“.


Although their performance wasn’t as extravagant as the art class’, Sam Dong and Hyemi’s song was praised for its simplistic beauty. The sounds of a simple piano melody and guitar rhythm perfectly communicated both their innocence and their strong love for music.

Fans of KBS’s “Dream High“ have been waiting for the love line between Wooyoung and IU to connect, and it seems like their patience will finally pay off!

To recap, Wooyoung’s character, ‘Jason,’ noticed ‘Pil Sook’s’ talents from the very start, even though everyone else was dismissive of the ‘ugly duckling’. He helped dissuade her from dropping out of Girin Arts High School by expressing his desire to stand on stage with her.


Previous episodes led to this sweet buildup in plot, and fans of the ‘milky couple’ were ecstatic to see Jason and Pilsook finally go on their first date.

This week, ‘Jason’ caught ‘Pil Sook’ dropping chocolates in his cubby, and asked her if she would like to go sing karaoke with him. She agrees, and to her delight, finds that she has the best day of her life there – the two ended up singing every song listed in the karaoke book!

Ultimately, Jason wants to team up with Pil Sook for her entrance class performance, but he has to figure out how to overcome a certain clause – he’s of a different class, and so he may not be allowed to sing with her. So tune in to January 24th’s episode to see how he does it eventually.
