L.A. based singer/songwriter Laura Jansen, self-described "half Dutchie, half American, full on human being", recorded an album Bells that became a hit in her native Netherlands in 2009, selling more than 250,000 copies. Now that album finally arrives stateside March 15 via Decca. Jansen, who tours often backing up the likes of Joshua Radin (where we first caught her in 2006) and William Fitzsimmons, offers up a particular variety of personal, piano-centric adult pop that serves her well on this version of the Kings of Leon staple "Use Somebody" (which is included on Bells).

Half-Dutch singer-songwriter Laura Jansen makes sweetly dispositioned piano-pop that has seen her star lurch fully into the ascendant among the Hotel Café scene in Hollywood where she more than holds her own with the likes of Ingrid Michaelson and the similarly good-natured Meiko. Having moved to Los Angeles from Holland four years ago to pursue her musical dreams, Jansen self-released her debut EP Trauma in 2007 and has adopted the same approach for this second bite at the cherry.
