Singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles is just two weeks from releasing her sophomore effort "Kaleidoscope Heart" on September 7th!! Her single "King of Anything" is currently climbing up the Billboard Hot Adult Top 40 Tracks (#7) and has already peaked to #51 on the Hot 100.

 To give us a little more of what we can expect from the album, Bareilles premiered a new album track titled "Hold My Heart" today. It's a beautiful piano driven pop ballad that will have you going for repeated plays. I still go back to her debut "Little Voice" from time to time and can't wait to hear the new effort. Sara Bareilles toured heavily in support of the million-selling Little Voice, which turned her into a star in 2007. Playing nightly shows with a slick live band added some muscle to her songs, and Kaleidoscope Heart -- released in 2010 as Bareilles' second major-label album -- finds the songwriter playing up the bold, peppy side of her sound.



Panic had set in. Sara Bareilles was supposed to be well into making the successor to the '07 platinum-selling Little Voice and, she says, "I think I fell victim to what a lot of artists go through with a second record: the expectations, the pressure, the anxiety of what’s to come, the idea that maybe I’ve already written my best work…" She decided to heed the advice of friend and fellow songwriter Matt Hales of Aqualung: “You can’t polish a turd. A bad song is a bad song. Ask for more time.” Looking for a creative spark, she headed into the studio and recorded the four songs that she loved. Then the "floodgates opened" and suddenly "it was easy, and exciting, and infinitely inspiring." After months of fear and loathing, she says, "it felt completely right."
