印尼音樂當然不只是甘美朗，山達(Sunda)族的地東(Dedung)及當督(Dangdut)及受葡萄牙影響安公龍(Ankleng)，回教的密宗音樂流行音樂及各少數民族的歌謠等，也有一定的魅力)但甘美朗無疑的已成印尼音樂的代表。巴里島有多所專為外國人設的甘美朗音樂舞蹈班，很受歡迎。
