擁有火辣姣好身材與外型，能夠把玩一手好吉他、貝斯和鍵盤，極具爆發力的歌唱演繹技巧，聚集所有鎂光燈的焦點、鎖住全球樂迷目光的Melissa Auf der Maur，早已是搖滾領域中身經百戰的女悍將。自1994年加入Courtney Love組織起的團隊Hole而嶄露頭角，陸續成為世代重點部隊The Smashing Pumpkins、陰柔才子Rufus Wainwright、提名葛萊美的Fountains Of Wayne等團體/歌手，指名合作的搖滾女豪傑！

　　來自加拿大的Melissa，能夠說上一口流利的英、法雙語，高中時期進入藝術學院就讀，大學則專攻攝影研究，卻仍不忘情音樂的魅力。因為The Smashing Pumpkins靈魂主腦Billy Corgan的穿針引線，讓Melissa取代已故的才女Kristen Pfaff，正式成為Hole樂團的基本成員，1998年的“Celebrity Skin”專輯出盡鋒頭，百萬銷售輕鬆到手。隨著Hole的解體，以及擔任客席樂手的歷練，Melissa於2004年推出首張個人專輯“Auf der Maur”，除了在美國本土有亮眼表現外，更風靡英倫地區，其中Queens Of The Stone Age核心人物Josh Homme、The Smashing Pumpkins吉他手James Iha、昔日Hole的好夥伴Eric Erlandson皆義不容辭參與演出！
睽違6年之久，Melissa轉換新東家至Roadrunner Records旗下，用心交出第二張錄音室大作“Out Of Our Minds”，整合先前暖身問市EP裡頭的單曲，精彩匯集英國首屈一指的製作大師Alan Moulder (The Jesus And Mary Chain、My Bloody Valentine)、以及Jordon Zadorozny (Queens Of The Stone Age、UNKLE)、Mike Fraser (AC/DC、Metallica)等黃金陣容齊力操盤。以純演奏的「The Hunt」揭開序幕，勾引無比想像空間，就在思緒仍在盤旋搜尋之際，隆隆作響的吉他瞬間飆入耳裡，搭配Melissa隨興且感染力聲頻鋪散的「Out Of Our Minds」，迷離鼓譟的氛圍加滿全曲；頹圮搖盪的「22 Below」，拉扯歌德式的音場，穿繞鬼聲魅影的結尾，令人感到不寒而慄；Horror Punk的始祖The Misfits創團大哥Glenn Danzig友情跨刀的「Father's Grave」，反投射藍調的嗆鼻味覺；曲末的「1000 Years」，愈至後段愈加深攀高的濃烈搖滾氣度，像似滲入酒精般的刺激酵素，小心醉倒在Melissa所灑下的神迷音網之中！

Melissa Auf der Maur (born March 17, 1972) is a Canadian rock musician of Swiss-German ancestry from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Her career has included 5 years as bassist with the band Hole and she later toured with The Smashing Pumpkins for their 2000 tour. She is also a published photographer.
