東岸饒舌第一把交椅的嘻哈天皇Jay-Z，本名為Shawn Carter，來自布魯克林，與好友Damon Dash和Kareem "Biggs" Burk合力創辦Roc-A-Fella廠牌，1996年發行首張專輯“Reasonable Doubt”即拿下白金唱片認證、隔年的“In My Lifetime, Vol. 1”也攻佔告示牌專輯榜#3、而從1999年到2007年間所發行的7張專輯，沒有一張意外、全數得到告示牌專輯榜的冠軍！不僅全球專輯銷售超越三千萬張、連Def Jam Recordings以及Roc-A-Fella唱片廠牌、連鎖運動酒吧The 40/40 Club、NBA紐澤西籃網隊、服飾品牌Rocawear都是Jay-Z一步一步打下的企業江山，又是一手捧紅Rihanna的操盤手、更將性感歌手Beyonce娶進門，有名有利有地位的Jay-Z簡直是羨煞所有地球人。
2004年尾開始，Jay-Z與Dash、Biggs之間因為脫手Def Jam、Roc-A-Fella股權及其他問題而引發三人決裂，一度鬧得沸沸揚揚，但Jay-Z依然是Roc-A-Fella的管理人，直到2009年的5月，Jay-Z買回與Def Jam的契約、離開Roc-A-Fella，與Live Nation合作，另起Roc Nation公司，擁有完全的掌控權，定位為360度全方位的音樂娛樂公司。
延續了2001、2002年兩張叫好又叫座Blueprint系列專輯，所發行的此令許多嘻哈客期待許久的第三部曲，找來了嘻哈指標潮人Kanye West、排行榜魔手Timbaland、芝加哥嘻哈教父No I.D.、Pharrell的The Neptunes，以及名嘻哈製作Swizz Beatz來共同製作，並順勢替Roc Nation的落成造勢。首支單曲「D.O.A.」取材Bananarama成名曲「Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye」最有名的一段歌曲段落，並將吉他、喇叭solo奇妙的壓入歌曲當中，順利進入熱門繞舌單曲榜#15；「Empire State Of Mind」有Alicia Keys的R&B助陣軟化了Jay-Z硬派風格的；與Swizz Beatz製作合唱的「On To The Next One」、讓妻子碧昂絲不冠名低調合唱的「Venus VS. Mars」，以及與Rihanna、Kanye West三人聯手、早已拿下熱門單曲榜冠軍的「Run This Town」，還有與新興英國樂團Mr. Hudson & The Library首腦Mr. Hudson合作的末曲「Young Forever」，將阿爾發村那各位耳熟能詳的「Forever Young」做個新舊混合，曲風混搭，精采又驚喜。不失東岸繞舌本色、更壓入受大眾喜愛的流行節拍的“Blueprint 3”，已經成為了Jay-Z的第11張告示牌專輯榜冠軍專輯，打敗了貓王10張的紀錄，Jay-Z依然把持著東岸嘻哈天皇的十足風範！

Shawn Carter known mostly as Jay-Z has been around ever since I can remember. Now on his eleventh studio album he still shows no signs of stopping. Current single "Run This Town" featuring Rihanna & Kanye West has already peaked to #3 on the Billboard Hot 100. As for the rest of the album Jay-Z has brought out some of the most popular names in music to appear on his newest effort. More then half of the tracks include a feature and is mostly produced by Kanye West, No I.D., and Timbaland. For the most part I find this enjoyable not being a big Rap/Hip-Hop fan but some hardcore Jay-Z might find themselves being over it. Check it out and BUY YOUR COPY SEPTEMBER 11TH!!
