Story :
The film tells the story of Mek and It. Mek is a quiet guy who works hard as a hitman to get money for his mother and brother. Now, Mek is hired to kill a wealthy and good-looking guy named It. Though he got a perfect girl by his side, It still needs something to fulfill his life. While Mek is following It for a chance to kill, something in his mind refuses to do it. When the two guys meet, they can't resist the feeling in their hearts, but Mek wants to leave. It lets him go and is still waiting for Mek to come back.

Handsome leading men, beautiful photography, clever camera angles - but a story which piles grief upon tragedy, so much so that the audience at times will laugh out loud, because the movie tries too hard to be serious.
That's Mr Handsome's assessment of Poj Anon's gay drama, Friends (also known as Bangkok Love Story). Many posters at the Pantip webboard board agree with Mr H that the movie is worth seeing - its impressive box office take to date suggests it has been promoted well, and is enjoying good worth of mouth.
However, perhaps because this is Poj's first serious film - a gay drama which he has waited all his life to make - it strives too hard for dramatic effect.
Mr Handsome says the acting by the two male leads is wooden, but the actors who fill the supporting roles do a convincing job. The story has elements of the gay cowboy movie, Brokeback Mountain, in that the two male leads, once smitten, can't forget each other, and will strive to overcome whatever obstacles life throws them - family tragedy, personal mishaps, fate, the passing of time - just to see each other again.
Sound heart-wrenching? It does. But these are characters who already lead hopeless lives. Just how much more misery do we need to see?
Mr Handsome remarks on one scene, in which the two male leads, Mehk and It, make love in front of Mehk's house. Mehk's girlfriend sees, as does It's mother and younger brother - a revelation (to them) which has tragic repercussions.
One poster at the Pantip board says the scene can be interpreted to mean that the forbidden love which this pair holds for each other will reach out to seek acceptance from lovers and family - but ultimately, it is not to be. If gay lovers are to be happy, they have to find that happiness in themselves.
