2008年在結束與SONY唱片合約之後，她和工作夥伴Len Nicholson自組娛樂工作室Feenix Rising。2009年與美國嘻哈音樂超級廠牌Def Jam簽下發行合約的艾蜜蕊，歲末終於祭出個人全新第四張錄音室專輯【In Love & War/愛情與戰爭】。艾蜜蕊在談到這張專輯概念時表示：「我想要味道重一些的音樂，不需要修飾得太美。多一點70年代的味道，搖滾、靈魂、藍調交織輝映的感覺！」而第一個成功抓住艾蜜蕊想要的，正是曾和麥可傑克森合作音樂的天王製作Teddy Riley。

R&B singer Amerie hasn't had the best of luck over the last couple of years. Her third studio album "Because I Love It" took some time to ever be released and eventually she parted ways with Columbia Records. Now with Island Def Jam Music Group she is on her fourth album. The album will still be released even after two singles "Why R U" and "Heard Em' All," both have failed to make a impact. Her singles might not be doing well, but she sure doesn't lack talent. It's a solid album and Amerie delivers with every track. It's contemporary R&B with influences from hip-hop, soul and old school rock. 一位混血兒。母親韓國人父親美籍非裔一名職業軍人，所以艾蜜蕊童年生活足跡遍佈阿拉斯加到德國基地。

擁有一身黑到發亮的巧克力膚色、漂亮迷人外表以及火辣姣好身材的Amerie，扭腰擺臀的魅力受到電動馬達瑞奇馬丁青睞，在2005年大改造重新復出中合唱首攻單曲〈I Don`t Care〉。有著韓籍東方血統的Amerie，不僅在歐美國家有著傑出表現，更在亞洲國贏得讚賞。
