Little Boots, aka 24 year-old Blackpool native Victoria Hesketh), is proud to announce the release of her debut album. What started as a bit of fun (recording 'funtimes' covers in her pajamas) eventually led to homepage exposure on YouTube, ... Full Descriptionracking up more than 250,000 views overnight. Claiming Little Boots as her moniker (the Latin name Caligula translates as "Little Boot"), Victoria eventually released her limited edition 7" single 'Meddle' to rapturous applause from every corner of the UK press.

The white label Moroder-inspired 'Stuck on Repeat' and various remixes started popping up everywhere, making her one of the "most blogged about artists". In November '08, Jools Holland's producer took a chance booking a virtual unknown for what would become one of the most intriguing performances of the year. The only female to perform on the night (alongside heavyweights Al Green, The Killers & Damon Albarn), Victoria wowed the audience with her effortless skill: singing, playing three insPitchfork (Website) - "[A] mainstream pop effort with an indie-friendly narrative....One three-and-a-half-minute nugget comes after another, with the directness of Madonna and the fashion sense, too..."

"New in Town", the album's opening track, was inspired by the "seedy side of life" in Los Angeles and the strange individuals Little Boots met while recording Hands. It was chosen as the album's lead single because "it's very bold and colourful and doesn't really sound like anything else out there." The album's third track, "Stuck on Repeat", was composed by Little Boots and Goddard with Australia singer Kylie Minogue in mind. Inspired by the disco era, it was compared to Donna Summer's 1977 song "I Feel Love" by music critics. "Meddle", the album's sixth track, was released as a limited edition single in August 2008. Described by The Times as a "barnstormer" the "disco, drum and bass hybrid", reached number 97 on the UK singles chart. The song "Mathematics" was inspired by Sylvia Plath's poem "Love is a Parallax." In the song, Little Boots uses math as a metaphor for love. The ninth track, "Symmetry", a duet with The Human League singer Philip Oakey, was a "dream" for Little Boots. A fan of the band, she was surprised when Oakey agreed to provide vocals for the track.

little boots本名 Victoria Hesketh..Little Boots是Victoria現在單飛事業的藝名(也算她的小名).因為她朋友看完羅馬大帝的電影後.就叫Victoria "Little Boots"並不是因為Victoria像那位皇帝一樣瘋狂卻又受人尊敬(但是性向有問題).純粹只是因為Little Boots本人很嬌小.所以就叫她Little Boots小靴靴 她的身高和Kylie Minogue差不多.約150。

本名為Victoria Hesketh的Little Boots，精通鋼琴、長笛、豎琴、日系電子樂器Tenori-on與迷你掌上琴Stylophone等樂器，對音樂的熱愛可見一斑，曾參加英國電視台ITV的偶像選秀，雖不幸落敗，反而因此經驗讓Victoria明白了成功沒有一步登天的捷徑，自覺應先專注於學業，因而進入名校－英國里茲大學學習文化研究，以「Jamie Cullum音樂中的獨創思想研究」論文取得了優等學士學位的特優證書，期間她也與同學合組了一支娘子軍樂團Dead Disco，由Victoria擔任主唱，並發行了四張單曲。

2007年8月，Victoria離開該團正式以個人名義出道，並以Little Boots為藝名，（因為她腳很小），接下來的一年Little Boots整理個人作品，率先發行EP“Arecibo”、“Little Boots”與樂壇見面，並找來了唱片製作人同時也是The Bird And The Bee的“Bee” Greg Kurstin（Lily Allen、Rilo Kiley）、水星音樂獎肯定的Hot Chip樂團團員Joe Goddard、名製作RedOne（Lady Gaga、Akon）、流行大牌製作Richard Stannard（Kylie Minogue、Spice Girls）等多名製作人合作，擔當Little Boots的個人首張專輯“Hands”的製作，但Little Boots在專輯發行前就已打敗人氣也相當高的樂隊White Lies與Lady Gaga、位居BBC「Sound Of 2009」之榜首，大大地在媒體界曝光、人氣飆升。單曲「New In Town」發行首週即拿到全英單曲榜#13、而“Hands”發行之後，同樣氣勢如虹地以新人之姿創下首週空降全英專輯榜#5的佳績，英國各方指標性音樂傳媒雜誌，更一致壓倒性地給予高評推薦，讓Little Boots被拿來與同輩Lady Gaga、Ladyhawke、La Roux、Florence And The Machine等被並列比較，自這波英國流行新女聲電子浪潮中脫穎而出，給當今流行電子樂界帶來全新氣象，Joe Goddard更以「樂壇終於有個知識與才華兼備的流行巨星誕生」之評語讚賞Little Boots。「New In Town」有著起伏的靜電波段、觸電的初接觸、討喜的電子節拍，果然是支排行榜佳作；具有冠軍相的「Tune Into My Heart」，展現出Little Boots美好浪漫的溫柔唱腔、揮灑鑽石般的電氣節拍毫不間斷；Little Boots一人可以同時彈奏三種樂器，更一邊演唱，她在自家錄影、自彈自唱的「Meddle」，在youtube網上瀏覽人次早已衝破60萬人次。流行與電子融合的音樂早已不新奇，但Little Boots運用了半正式的玩具式樂器將音樂作出新意，令人為之一亮，頗有前輩凱莉米洛的音樂風格、也延續了從2000年開始之後，電氣音樂再度興盛的潮流，Little Boots實力絕對不亞於同期的女歌手
