4人組ガールズバンド「SCANDAL（スキャンダル）」が20日、同日発売の10枚目のシングル「ハルカ」の発売記念イベントを、「ラゾーナ川崎」（川崎市幸区）で開き、約1500人の聴衆を前に、「ハルカ」を含む2曲を熱唱した。ボーカルのHARUNAさんは東日本大震災に触れ、「私たちのできることは、歌を届けること。元気を届けること」と語り、5月3日からスタートする全国ツアーで、開催も迷ったという仙台公演を行うことを発表した。

ベースのTOMOMIさんは、「今回のツアーは『Dreamer』と言うんですけど、夢を持った人たちに、前に一歩出る勇気が与えられるようなライブにしたい」と意気込みを語り、聴衆に「みんな夢持ってますか？」と語りかけ、会場を盛り上げていた。仙台公演は、5月8日に「Zepp仙台」で開催。会場には、東北に向けたメンバー直筆の応援メッセージが書かれた垂れ幕を展示するという。

「SCANDAL」は08年10月、「DOLL」でデビュー。09年10月のデビューアルバム「BEST★SCANDAL」がオリコン週間ランキングで初登場5位を記録し、同年の日本レコード大賞優秀新人賞も獲得した。新曲「ハルカ」は、10枚目のシングルで、29日公開の3D劇場アニメ「豆腐小僧」の主題歌に起用されている。イベント会場には、「豆腐小僧」の着ぐるみも応援に駆けつけていた。




The girls performed two songs from the single at Lazona Kawasaki, drawing in an audience of about 1,500 fans. During the live event, the band talked about their feelings on the March 11th earthquake, and revealed that despite the bad situation in the area, the band would not be cancelling their May 8th performance in Sendai.

“This tour is called ‘Dreamer’, but I want it to be a live (performance) that can give people who had dreams the courage to walk a step ahead of them,” bassist TOMOMI said enthusiastically to the crowd.

The girls of SCANDAL also presented a large sheet for their fans to write handwritten messages of encouragement. The sheet will be put on display when the girls perform at Zepp Sendai for their nationwide tour to cheer on the people of Tohoku in their struggle to rebuild their disaster-stricken cities.
