New EP「The Soul Extreme EP」は、タイトルの如く彼女のルーツを全面に出したソウル・アルバム。

4月29日公開映画「鬼神伝」主題歌「STARLIGHT」をはじめ、ジャミロクワイの「Virtual Insanity」スティービー・ワンダーの「LATELY」のカバーも収録されており、まさに福原美穂の原点が凝縮された一枚。

初回限定盤には、2010年12月22日に行われた「Live in Music」のライブ音源を収めたDISC2が付いた2CD仕様です。

AI and Fukuhara Miho have announced that they will be collaborating for a brand new song, titled “O2″!

This powerful, soul-singing duo will release their song as part of Fukuhara’s upcoming EP, “The Soul Extreme”, which hits stores on May 11th. “O2″ has already been claimed as the next theme song to Fuji Television’s “Gout Temps Nouveau” and will begin airing with the show on April 6th. Meanwhile, the second track “STARLIGHT” will be featured as the theme song for the upcoming movie, “Onigamiden”.

The EP is described as a “soul album” that travels back to Fukuhara’s roots in soul music, and it’ll include covers of Jamiroquai’s “Virtual Insanity”, Stevie Wonder’s “LATELY”, amongst many others. The limited edition version of the EP also includes recordings from her December 22nd “Live in Music” concert as part of a two-disc set.
