This year’s “Japan Jam 2011” rock festival at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba is going to go down from May 3rd to May 5th and the lineup was just expanded with five more artists.

The rock festival was established last year in 2010 and due to the great reception they decided to go for a second round this year. Unlike other festivals the artists rather focus on acoustic performances, covers of legendary songs and performing songs that you usually won’t hear at their own personal concerts. Just like the title of the festival implies, the atmosphere is more similar to a nice little jam session and definitely a must for fans of the genre.

The five new artists that got announced today are Overground Acoustic Underground, Suga Shikao, Elephant Kashimashi, Triceratops and Nakaido Reichi BAND.

Previous announcements already confirmed the performances of 10-FEET, Dohatsuten, Dragon Ash, Hidaka Toru (Beat Crusaders), FACT, Sambomaster, the telephones, TOTALFAT×Northern19, BIGMAMA, The Bawdies, Okuda Tamio, Zazen Boys, The Back Horn and Magokoro Brothers.

Additionally to those “host artists” there will be several surprise appearances by so-called “guest artists” that are going to jam together with some of the bands.
Tickets are currently on sale.
