On the 3rd, actress Ayase Haruka attended an event in commemoration of Kentucky Fried Chicken’s new biscuits.
At the event, Ayase showed everyone how to “properly” eat a KFC biscuit – by splitting it in half, drizzling honey in the middle, and dipping the whole “sandwich” into more honey – which garnered some praise from the company president, Watanabe Tadashi. “It’s delicious. With ideas like those, I’d like you to come help (the people who work) in development,” he told the actress, making the audience laugh with his silly offer.
Ayase looked incredibly excited and immediately replied, “I’d certainly love to participate!” The president seemed quite happy as he stated, “We’ll start implementing (your idea) as soon as possible.”
The actress is said to be a huge fan of KFC because its side menu features a variety of foods other than chicken. When asked about the restaurant’s new biscuits, Ayase seemed to approve of the improved recipe. “Even when you don’t use syrup, the crispiness is so tasty. They’re crispier than (the old biscuits) and have a nice texture. They’re delicious,” she said with a smile.
An impressive “birthday cake” made out of one hundred of KFC’s new biscuits was also presented to Ayase during the event, whose birthday is only a few weeks away. “It’s incredible!” she exclaimed, staring at the “cake” with wonder.
The biscuits will be available in restaurants across Japan on the 5th. The first one hundred customers at select locations will be presented a biscuit by the lovely actress herself.
