It was revealed a little over two weeks ago that singer Nakashima Mika was officially resuming activites.
Nakashima announced that her comeback single was titled “Dear“, and that it will go on sale April 27th. It is the theme song to “Youkame no Semi“, a movie starring Inoue Mao, and it’s also coupled with “A MIRACLE FOR YOU“.

As we had mentioned in October, Kakuta Mitsuyo’s hit suspense novel, “Youkame no Semi (八日目の蝉)” (Eng: “The Eighth Day”), serialized in The Yomiuri Shimbun from 2005 to 2006, has been filmed into a movie directed by Narushima Izuru and starring Inoue Mao and Nagasaku Hiromi. Upon completion of filming, Kakuta, Narushima, Inoue and Nagasaku greeted reporters at a press conference in Tokyo on February 28th.

At the press conference, author Kakuta told reporters, “At first I watched the movie while comparing it to the novel, but halfway through forgot about the novel and watched fully entranced [by the film]“. Director Narushima continued, “After reading the original work, I wanted to make it into a movie no matter what“.

Lead actress Inoue, who embodied the kidnapped main character, expressed in retrospect, “I agonized over how to portray all of the emotions. I think my fierce daily battles with various obstacles helped to make this film one that overflows with love and vitality“.

“The Eighth Day” tells the story of a girl, played by Inoue, who is kidnapped and raised by her married father’s illicit lover, portrayed by Nagasaku. The suspense film is scheduled to hit theaters in Japan on April 29th!
