It seems that idol group SKE48 is looking to take the number one spot on the Oricon charts with their upcoming single, “Banzai Venus,” as it’s been reported that initial shipment sales have already reached a stunning 300,000 units!

This figure is three times the amount that their last single “1! 2! 3! 4! Yoroshiku” sold in its first week, nearly guaranteeing the group a chart-topping single when “Banzai Venus” is released on March 9th. This incredible initial shipment number seems to be affected by both SKE48’s increasing popularity, and the success of sister unit AKB48’s latest single “Sakura no Ki ni Narou,” which recorded massive sales in its first week.
