On February 1st, AKB48 sub unit, Watarirouka Hashiritai 7, held their first free live event, “Shalalala free ni live ♪“, on the open air stage at Yoyogi Park in Tokyo. The event was held to celebrate their new single, “Valentine Kiss“, which is set to be released on February 2nd, and about 3000 fans rushed to the event.

The girls performed “Valentine Kiss” first, and then “Kanpeki Gu no Ne” after the MC talked for a bit. They then performed “Valentine Kiss” again as the last song, however, there were too many voices demanding an encore, so they came back to the stage and performed two more songs, “Hatsukoi Dash” and “Tenohira“. The free live event ended after 40 minutes, and both the girls and the fans seemed pleased with the outcome.

Watarirouka Hashiritai 7 was interviewed after the live by media outlets, and they were asked how they felt having their first free live. Member Watanabe Mayu said with a big smile, “I didn’t expect this many people to come to the event, so it was so much fun!” Another member, Nakagawa Haruka, commented, “I always wanted to hold a solo live as ‘Watarirouka Hashiritai’, so this was fun, but it was also a good opportunity for us to learn more.

At the interview, the girls were told that February 1st was when the original version of “Valentine Kiss” was sung by Kokusho Sayuri, as it was released 25 years ago, so the members were pleased about this coincidence.

Watarirouka Hashiritai 7 is planning to hold more release events for their new single in Osaka and Tokyo starting on February 2nd.
