The five ladies of KARA left for Japan through the Gimpo International Airport on February 3rd to fulfill their schedules there. The girls didn’t participate in any interviews and simply bowed deeply before their fans and reporters before hurriedly heading for their plane.

Japanese news Super J from TV Asahi was stationed at Haneda Airport to capture their arrival. The girls were seen sporting a few smiles and with their arms locked together holding hands, showing their unity.



They will be in Japan to finish filming for TV Tokyo’s drama, “URAKARA.“ The three members of KARA had came to an agreement with DSP Media on January 27th to fulfill the Japanese activities that were already scheduled prior to the controversy.

KARA確定以5人組繼續活動，時隔12日重回日本舞臺。DSP Media 1日表示，KARA組合的5名成員31日拍攝了即將於3月在日本發行的單曲封面照。她們還將於3日飛往日本，繼續拍攝東京電視臺播出中的劇集《URAKARA》。

上月27日，3名成員的父母與DSP方面進行協商後決定，由5名成員一起參加《URAKARA》等已簽約的活動。但KARA何時回歸國內樂壇，還是未知數。DSP方面表示，其他殘留問題將在近期內再次跟3名成員進行協商，一起尋找圓滿的解決方案。

Oricon新聞2日表示，KARA上月26日推出的DVD 《KARADISE 2011-SEASON'S GREETING FROM THAI》在發售第一週銷量突破1萬張，登上了Oricon DVD綜合排行榜周榜第9位。KARA推出的視頻作品進入Oricon綜合排行榜前十，這是第一次。

去年9月，KARA推出的藍光光碟《KARA VACATION》登過Oricon BD綜合排行榜周榜第11位。同時，KARA去年11月推出的正規專輯《Girl's Talk》也登上了Oricon專輯排行榜周榜第4位，連續第四週守住了前五位。

Idol group KARA has proclaimed their will to stay together.

The girls updated their official Japanese fan club site on February 3rd with a post titled, “Report”. They passed on, “Thank you for always supporting KARA. We gave you a big worry this time. From now on, we KARA members will keep working hard as five. Thank you for your love for us. We ask that you keep a close eye on KARA.”

To recap, KARA had gone through a crisis when members Seungyeon, Nicole, and Jiyoung declared their intent to terminate their contracts with DSP Media. This had put a halt on all their activities, including filming for their ongoing Japanese show, ‘URAKARA’.

On January 27th, however, the girls managed to successfully negotiate an agreement to resume activities with all five members, and had left for Japan on February 3rd.

DSP Media clarifies why Goo Hara is searching for a new place

It was reported last week that KARA’s Goo Hara was searching to lease a new home, and many fans began to wonder why she was moving out of the group’s dorm.

On February 1st, DSP Media cleared all ill suspicions surrounding the members’ relationships by confirming that her decision had nothing to do with KARA’s recent controversy. “Goo Hara’s search for a house around Kangnam has no relations with KARA’s current situation.”

KARA’s dorm is located near Haengdang-dong in Seoul, and the agency representative explained that most of the members had a secondary place to go back to if they didn’t feel like going back.

“While maknae Kang Jiyoung’s family moved from Paju to a place closer to the dorm, Han Seungyeon and Nicole’s houses are also only a bridge away,” they said.

“They felt there was no need to live in the dorm when their houses were so near, which is why they’ve been comfortably going in and out since a year ago.”


Considering how Park Gyuri and Goo Hara’s homes are in Bangbae-dong and Gwangju respectively, they are the only two members who’ve been staying at the dorm consistently.

The representative stated, “We heard that Goo Hara is trying to find a house near the Nonhyun-dong office in Gangnam-gu. We were told that it is only for personal reasons.”


Won Bin gets asked about the KARA controversy in Japan

Actor Won Bin ran into an uncomfortable situation with the press in Japan regarding KARA’s recent controversy.

While attending the 22nd International Jewelry Awards in Tokyo on January 26th, Won Bin was given a special award. However, during his interview, one of the reporters asked him if he was aware of the KARA controversy, catching the actor seriously off-guard with the off-topic question.

Won Bin was unable to hide his perplexed and surprised expressions, and this clip has started to make the rounds on Youtube.



After viewing this clip, fans are criticizing the thoughtless behavior of the Japanese reporters. Understandably though, since both Won Bin and KARA are Korean celebrities, it may seem like an acceptable question. However, because the two are totally unrelated, and have no ties whatsoever, the majority of people seem to be displeased with the line of questioning.

The award that was given to Won Bin this year was given to actor Lee Byung Hun last year, and it was presented by the ex-prime minister Hatoyama Yukio’s wife, Miyuki. Because of his similar looks to Japanese star Kimura Takuya, Won Bin has been coined the “Korean Kimura Takuya”.


Did Nicole’s mother seek out JYJ’s Jaejoong for advice?

A Japanese media outlet has made headlines for stirring up some drama, accusing Nicole’s mother of going to JYJ’s Jaejoong for advice regarding KARA and their recent controversy.

This media outlet stated that the two were spotted frequently dining together at Nicole’s mother’s restaurant, “Red Kitchen”, while conversing with serious expressions.

One piece of evidence that the tabloid is claiming is that many famous celebrities, including SNSD and others, have left autographs in the restaurant. Out of these, Jaejoong’s says, “The food is so delicious. Thank you”, with a picture taken of him and Nicole’s mother.

Furthermore, they claim that, “Jaejoong and Nicole’s mother have a very close relationship, which is why he goes to the restaurant so often. Nicole is not only close with Jaejoong, but also with the other members of JYJ as well. They were all spotted dining together in Japan.”

However, Korean netizens who have heard this rumor are saying, “This is an outrageous claim”, “I’m suspicious that this may be a way to show negative feelings against Hallyu”, and “Reports without any evidence need to be stopped”.
