Rock band BUMP OF CHICKEN embarked on a collaboration that threw them way back to the days of their childhood.

Their upcoming single, “Tomodachi no Uta“, has been chosen to be the theme song for Doraemon’s new movie, “Doraemon Shin・Nobita to Tetsujinheidan~Habatake Tenshitachi~“!

Reportedly, the members showed great excitement at the offer, saying they’ve been big fans of Doraemon since they were little.

“Doraemon Shin・Nobita to Tetsujinheidan~Habatake Tenshitachi~” is a remake of 1986 original, “Doraemon Nobita to Tetsujinheidan“. The BUMP OF CHICKEN members were just elementary school kids back then, but they confessed that it was still one of their favorite Doraemon movies.

“Tomodachi no Uta” was inspired by the members’ memories of their childhood, and of the touching scenes from the film. The song will be revealed on February 23rd, and the movie will be released on March 5th.
