Next Monday, the nation of Japan is going to congratulate their new adults in the form of the annual “Coming of Age Day” including traditional ceremonies and parties amongst family and friends.
Unfortunately AKB48 member Maeda Atsuko won’t yet be able to wear a beautiful furisode kimono this year, since her 20th birthday is only going to happen in July, but she’s already thinking about what kind of adult she would like to become in the newest edition of the “Weekly Playboy” magazine. Some of you might actually prefer the lack of furisode, or clothes in general, in this pictorial anyway.

Note: “Weekly Playboy” should not be confused with the “Playboy” we know in the west. There still are a lot of people who are shocked to see their favorite idol or actress in this magazine, not knowing that the weekly edition is nothing more but an ordinary idol gravure magazine. Yes, it usually does feature one nude pictorial of an AV actress each week as well, but so do other idol/manga magazines.
In case you’re curious, the completely unrelated monthly edition that was more similar to it’s nude western counterpart had ceased publication in early 2009, due to the lack of subscriptions. This shows that most Japanese prefer their bikini idols more than those that pose in the nude.
