2010’s line-up for the MBC Music Festival (scheduled for December 31st) has finally been unveiled!

Because of the huge list of artists performing on their show, MBC has decided to dedicate three of their studios for the live program.

The live program will begin airing on December 31st at 21:55,(台灣8點40) and will run for a total of 225 minutes.

Producer of ‘KBS Music Festival’ reveals thoughts on YGE’s non-attendance

YG藝人缺席KBS歌謠大典，PD表示“很難理解”

對於YG聲明旗下藝人不會參加年末KBS歌謠大典的事情，12月22日，KBS的製作人表達了另一方的看法。

PD在電話中表示：“我們收到了YG決定不出席我們典禮的通知。因為他們已經參加了其他的頒獎禮並且還獲獎了，所以對於我們來說，很難理解這樣的行為。”

“他們還說YG和2NE1的風格不適合我們的歌謠大典。如果YG方面這樣認為的話，我們也無話可說。我們也不想對不出席的人施加壓力，所以我們只會按照自己的方式繼續去做。”

2NE1是YG旗下唯一被列入此次歌謠大典前20名的藝人，而今年也進行了活動的Se7en和太陽則未能入選。

入選條件是根據每週的“音樂銀行”K-Chart來評判的，包括專輯、音源銷量以及觀眾的支持率等。

對於這點，PD也表示：“在不知道2NE1是唯一一個被列入演出名單的旗下藝人時，YG就已經拒絕出席了。我們不認為他們真的是因為這個才會這樣做。”

“我們一直在盡可能地做出公正的判斷，SM公司的BoA也沒有入選，但是並沒有什麼問題。人們把這看作KBS和YG的矛盾，令我們很有負擔，我們只是希望人們可以享受這次慶典。”


A controversy is brewing between KBS and YG Entertainment after the entertainment label declared that they would not be attending KBS’s year-end music festival on December 19th.

The producer of “KBS Music Festival” spoke with TV Daily on December 22nd, and revealed their side of the story:

“We received notice of YG Entertainment’s decision to be absent from our ceremony. Their action is extremely hard for us to understand, as they’ve already attended other music award ceremonies, and even won awards. They also told us that YG and 2NE1’s concept does not fit with our music festival. We honestly have nothing to say if YGE makes a decision like that. We do not want to force pressure on teams that cannot attend, so we will just be going our own reasonable way.”

YGE officials previously brought up concerns over 2NE1 being the only YGE artist listed on the ‘top 20 nominees’ for the festival. This is because their labelmates,Se7en and Taeyang , had also promoted in the same year as the girl group, but had failed somehow to place on the list. As a result, furious questions abounded over KBS’s standards for the nominations.

Regarding this, the producer went on to state, “YG Entertainment refused to attend even when they didn’t know 2NE1 was the only group of theirs invited as nominees. We don’t believe that they truly have a problem with Se7en and Taeyang not being included in the nominees. There’s honestly no reason for them to be acting like this.”

“We are making our own effort to make the fairest judgment possible. SM Entertainment’s BoA was not included in the rankings, and they have not expressed a problem with that. It’s pressuring to know that the public is viewing this as a problem between KBS and YG Entertainment; we just hope that it’s an enjoyable festival for all,” the producer concluded.

Nominees are decided by “Music Bank’s K-Chart” and feature winners according to album and digital music sales, along with viewer preference votes.

YG Family will not be participating in the ‘2010 KBS Music Festival’

YG Entertainment artists will not be taking part in the KBS year-end music festival.

According to music broadcast representatives on December 20th, 2NE1, Se7en, Taeyang, and Big Bang’s unit group GD&TOP, will only participate in the “SBS Gayo Daejun” and the “MBC Music Festival“, held on December 29th and 31st respectively.

A representative stated, “YG and KBS have differences in opinions regarding KBS broadcasting an award during the live festival. Thus, YG has decided to not let their label artists to participate in the program for this year.”

In truth, this year is not the first time KBS will be giving out a ‘Popular Song Award‘ at their music festival. Last year, KBS asked viewers to vote for the artist who most deserved the ‘Popular Song Award’, which was given to 2PM for their track, ‘Again and Again‘.

If this doesn’t really sound like much of a big deal, then here’s the backstory: around 5 years ago, all three broadcasting companies decided to change their year-end award ceremonies to just plain music festivals. Last year, KBS had received vast criticism for suddenly creating a ‘Popular Song Award’ for their Music Festival.

In their defence, KBS has voiced out that their ‘Popular Song Award’ is not indicative of plans to resurrect an awards ceremony.

“Just like last year, we will not be holding a music awards ceremony this year. We are merely just choosing the most popular song of the year. We are aware of the criticism about us resurrecting an awards ceremony, but we are taking fairness in consideration, and will not be holding an awards show this year,” explained a representative of the KBS Music Festival.

The ‘Popular Song Award’ is solely based on viewers’ votes.

對於南韓三大電視台SBS,MBC,KBS的年末節目可以說是非常的重要，從之前的頒獎典禮轉變到現在以年末歌謠表演取代。但這三家電視台對於歌手的表演內容和陣容也可相當的斤斤計較，今年的表演陣容也慢慢的出爐囉!

但在出爐的一些名單發現YG旗下的藝人只出現在29日的SBS歌謠大戰和31日MBC的年末節目，那麼KBS的呢?

YG目前和KBS對於年末的頒獎典禮意見有點分歧，因此YG決定旗下藝人將不參與這次的表演!

對於為何電視台會將頒獎典禮改以音樂慶典，主要是因為三大電視台都各自頒獎，引發了沒有公正性的爭論，因此才改以表演節目來慶祝一年的結束，但去年KBS仍然決定在表演上頒發Popular Song Award!今年他們也不打算改變作法，仍會頒發這個獎項!

SBS' end of the year music festival, the “2010 Gayo Daejun,” recently revealed its line-up of performers.

They are as followed:

BoA, Super Junior, SNSD, KARA, SE7EN, G-Dragon & T.O.P, 2PM, SHINee, 2AM, 2NE1, B2ST, 4minute, MBLAQ, F.T Island, CNBLUE, miss A, etc.

In addition, the MCs of the festival were recently confirmed to be Super Junior’s Kim Heechul, CNBLUE’s Jung Yonghwa, 2AM’s Jo Kwon and actress Hwang Jung Eum.

The festival will be broadcast live from Ilsan’s KINTEX on December 29th (Wednesday), 9:55PM.
