Truc Duy’s “Bad Gurr” MV Version 2.0 revealed!

If you thought the first version didn’t really live up to it’s title, then that’s because it was technically the “Good Gurr” version.

While the first one seemed to focus more on the movie’s plot情節 (Saigon Yo) as it clearly implies a good Truc Duy, the second one indirectly serves as a sequel with its own contriving plot. In short, spoilers ahead, bad gur Truc Duy (I am having WAY too much fun with her new nickname) definitely stole good gur Truc Duy’s boyfriend! Poor thing.

Anyway, loving that the MVs’ characters somewhat reflect the 2 contrasting female leads in the movie: Miss Goody-Two-Shoes versus Miss Rebel-Breakdancer. Interesting use of the parallelism device, I’d say.

Good Girl & Sali Dusoh (the other male lead from the movie)

Here’s the trailer for this version if you missed it on our channel earlier:

We were already informed that Truc Duy‘s comeback was to represent upcoming hip hop movie, Saigon Yo!, as a key player in the main soundtrack, but who knew Suboi also took part?

Teased some time ago, Suboi’s “Roi Xa/Away” MV has just been released today.

Saigon Yo! seems to be capitalizing on all the right side projects and promotions. Keep this up and our interests could be fatally piqued.

The film is currently expected to drop this December in Vietnam and Spring 2011 in the US.

Remember the girl who made her debut with Tonny Viet via the song “Danh Quen/Resignedly Forget” back in 2007? Though her existence in Vpop 3 years ago may be (extremely) shortlived, something tells us the name Truc Duy will stick around for much longer this time.

I mean, look at the above released MV poster. If it’s anyone to whip up a catchy beat and help kick someone back up the charts, Only C‘s the man. As for director Danny Do (from JustKiddingFilms)…his work seems promising enough, while cinematographer Bao Nguyen… well, I’ve yet to see his work but his name does sound familiar. In addition, producers VietMax (famous bboy & founder of BigSouth crew) and Elizabeth Ai are apparently both style-related contributors and it seems that VietMax is also part of the graphic design team called 84 Productions. If you haven’t noticed already, 84 Productions is where our banner came from, and, of course, the above poster as well as the official movie poster for Saigon Yo!.

Here are some of Truc Duy’s comeback teaser photos from 84 Productions:

Comeback announcements aside, it appears that 454 Life Entertainment also contributed in lending Director Stephane Gauger a musical hand for the film. With so many overseas contributions to this project, the process of this film has span out to become a truly badass East meets West collaboration.
