2010年9月28日加州洛杉磯， 第一個進入美國主流流行音樂一百大排行榜前十名的亞裔嘻哈團體Far East Movement（FM）當天特地為亞裔媒體舉辦了一場活動。這場活動主要是為了向亞裔媒體介紹他們即將推出的第一張專輯「Free Wired」。這張由Cherry Tree/Interscope唱片公司製作的專輯預訂在十月十二日正式問世。
由中日混血的Kev Nish、韓裔的Prohgress和J-Splif及菲律賓裔的DJ Virman所組成的FM是第一個與美國主流唱片公司簽約的亞裔嘻哈團體。受歡迎程度與日俱增的FM在媒體活動中向記者們介紹了自己的出身背景，談到他們如何開始音樂之路，他們的創作靈感和今後的努力目標。
以時尚墨鏡、細條領帶、閃亮的外套和新潮球鞋為特色的FM從在Interscope 唱片公司的公關部門做實習生時起，走過一條漫長的道路才有今天的地位。他們新專輯的主打歌「Like A G6」已經在全國的廣播電台排行榜及銷售量上造成轟動。不但曾在Apple(蘋果)iTune高居第二名，而且是全國一百大排行榜的第十名。自從這首歌播出以來，歌迷對它的熱情有增無減，也使因為這首歌成為全國主要前四十個流行音樂市場的中四十家廣播電台播放率第二高的歌曲。這首歌及伴隨之音樂短片的 YouTube點播率已經超過七百萬次，在MySpace上播放的次數也已經超過四百五十萬次。這段音樂短片第一次在MySpace上播放就立刻獲選為第一名。
FM將他們從自己的生活方式和在洛杉磯各地俱樂部演出時得到的靈感，為全世界的歌迷創作了「Free Wired」，這個由他們新創的活動代表著他們從穿著到科技的所有生活層面，其節奏則融入了嘻哈、電音和舞曲等。
「『Free Wired』代表著擺脫束縛，用你自己最舒服的方式生活。不管是在俱樂部派對也好，在家裏上網也好，以某種方式穿著，或是享受某種活動。每天25小時，每星期八天，自由自在卻又不乏與外界聯繫的生活，就是這個意思，」Kev Nish表示。
Far East Movement在2009年以「Girls On The Dance Floor」一舉登上洛杉磯廣播電台榜首的寶座而一炮而紅。這首歌曲經由俱樂部一再的播放，展現出強烈的感染力，進而引起電視及電影界主管對「Free Wired」曲風的注意，並且在如「Entourage」、「CSI」、 「Gossip Girl」等當紅電視節目和「玩命關頭3東京甩尾」（Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift）及 「搖滾男神」（Get Him To The Greek）等賣座電影中播放他們的歌曲。
FM 鋒芒初露，進而獲邀加入女神卡卡（Lady Gaga）的Monster's Ball、N*E*R*D的Army Tour、Robyn/Kelis的All Hearts Tour及LMFAO的 Party Rock等巡迴演唱會。他們目前正伴隨Mike Posner進行「Up In The Air」巡迴演出。

They currently hold the #1 spot on iTunes with current single "Like A G6" which is also set for another jump on the Billboard Hot 100 this week (#6). As for the album the guys made it clear in my interview with them that they wanted people to "feel free and get wild" when listening to the effort. I can proudly say, mission accomplished. The album is a non-stop dance party from beginning to end. Filled with electro-pop and hip-house numbers ready to explode in the clubs. The effort also includes a great amount of features from Keri Hilson, Snoop Dogg, Ryan Tedder, and more! The Far East Movement has officially begun! Far East Movement (also known as FM) is a mainstream hip-hop and pop group who I've been meaning to introduce since I saw them open for Robyn & Kelis on the "All Hearts" tour. Many of you may have never heard of them but these boys actually have had underground party records for some time now. Early this year they signed a major record deal with Cherrytree Records, a subsidiary of Interscope Records and now are getting ready to release their new album "Free Wired" later this year! They are currently climbing up the charts with single "Like A G6" which is expected to have a big jump on the Hot 100 next week. Be sure to check them out, Enjoy!!
