Tomorrow's Fixtures/(PREDICTIONS! - IN BRACKETS! These are NOT final scores yet! hahah)...Should I even bother!?
TOMORROW: FIFA World Cup 2010. Day 7 Match Analysis
.
Gelson Fernandes celebrates his smash-and-grab winner against joint favourites Spain in a match that shocked world football and will live long in the memory. Finally, we got the three things today in this tournament that we were all begging for! We got a solid looking team, or even two, in the forms of Switzerland and Chile who actually looked half bothered and energetic in their opening games and respective wins. We also got an upset and the biggest shock yet as joint-favourites Spain, although dominating posession, were tactically beaten by Ottmar Hitzfeld's Switzerland, and finally, what we've all been waiting for...GOALS GOALS GOALS!!! as Uruguay soundly beat an out-of-sort South Africa team 3-0 - only the second biggest win in the tournament so far! Does this mean the end of the Vuvuzela!?!?
6月16日,洪都拉斯迎戰智利,上半時第34分鐘,洪都拉斯後衛倒地解圍,卻將球踢在15號博塞豪爾的身上,博塞豪爾將球撞入網窩。智利1-0取得比賽勝利。

Chile were hot. Honduras were not. Here, we finally saw a team who bothered turning up in full flow for their opening game. Chile, ofcourse, are huge outsiders to go on and win the tournament, but they showed some good promise. But yeh, all good things come to an end, and they won't win it. Matias Fernandez looked lively throughout and was at the centre of all good things Chilean. His team-mate ALEXIS SANCHEZ stole the limelight however, with a virtuoso performance. Real Madrid are interested in him, and don't be too surpised to see him in white soonish. His pace, his passing and movement/interlinking between team mates and his ability to whip in the ball were noted by the watching world. However, as good as Chile were, Honduras were equally as poor. Star-name WILSON PALACIOS could only do so much himself, so when JEAN BEAUSEJOUR finally scored to show Chile's domination, it was more relief than excitement, as no one wanted another dominating performance ended by a half-time 0-0. He got a bit lucky, the ball striking a defender before being touched in off his run. But no one was complaining, it was fully deserved. The second-half continued with Chilean dominance and God knows why this tight-ass World Cup keeps games locked at 1-0. But that's the way it finished, and as I predicted, Chile will finish 3rd to Honduras's 4th, shown by this match-up. Neither has enough to break down the strong, tenacious European tactics of Spain or surprise package Switzerland. Watch out for former Liverpool winger MARK GONZALES if he plays next game, he came on with 3 mins left and took as many shots. Red Hot Chileans!

The Spanish Armada isn't strong enough for the opportunist Swiss Army!
So the giant-killing begins! The first shock of the tournament finally arrives, and its in the form of Switzerland, who I tipped to finish second, but I wouldn't have ever counted on them beating Spain. Ottmar Hitzfeld's side showed spirit, determination, courage and at times rode their luck to show their credentials and finally add some drama to this 'uninspired' tournament so far. Don't get it twisted - Spain absolutely battered Switzerland for most of the 90 mins. The Swiss defence was just awesome (espcially PHILLIPE SENDEROS who went off injured), and their counter attack was even deadlier. Del Bosque decided to leave Fernando Torres and Cesc Fabregas on the bench to begin with, prefering FC Barcelona trio Xavi Hernandez, Andres Iniesta and new-boy David Villa. Although they all showed great pace, nice touches and imaginative play, their creativity lacked that spark and edge needed to break down a resolute Swiss army, as it remained 0-0 at half-time. Full backs SERGIO RAMOS & JOAN CAPDEVILA were Spain's best however, getting forward at every opportunity possible and making the first half look like a training session for the Spanish. You would've expected much of the same in the second-half, but only 7 minutes in, GELSON FERNANDES scored after being heavily involved in a Route 1 Swiss counter-attack and eventually finished neatly. Spain were stunned, but the pure energetic performance by Switzerland merited something, surely. They hung in and sucked Spain dry before hitting them where it most hurts when they least expected it - The Jabulani Balls!! Spain panicked and sent on the creativity of FERNANDO TORRES & JESUS NAVAS who all had chances to score, as well as Iniesta, but XABI ALONSO most of all when he struck a fantastic first time shot against the underside of the bar...shit! What else did Spain have to do to score!? Like 20 chances, all the posession, the best players in the World...you guessed it. Switz' broke down the other end of the pitch and hit the woodwork themselves after ERIN DERDIYOK fooled both Puyol and Casillas. That would'a been game set and match. The rest of the game petered out in the Swiss-half, but spain just couldn't break down a resolute defence. WTF is up with this World Cup!? When will normalcy resume??
6月17日,世界盃A組第二輪南非迎戰烏拉圭。第24分鐘,弗蘭憑藉一腳落葉遠射破門。
Forlan celebrates the first of his brace as a dominant Uruguay all but dumped out South Africa, and hopefully those stupid horns!!!
GOAAAALLLLLL! And was it a flattering scoreline?? Maybe, but not really. Uruguay's South American spark and spirit was just too much for a Vuvuzela-filled Pretoria Stadium and their heroic Bafana-Bafana. Someone finally took a game by the scruff of the neck, and that someone was Uruguay, who took control of Group A before tomorrow's vital clash between France & Mexico. Straight from kick off, Left-back JORGE FUCILE was walking past South Africans and showing ease and calm, which flowed from back to front throughout his team. With Steven Pienaar rather quiet, the confident SIPHIWE TSHABALALA was given the job of finding the South African spark, which was all but non-existant. So it was no surprise that Uruguay took the lead on 24 mins as it had been coming, the talismanic DIEGO FORLAN unleashing an unstoppable effort past Khune which took a defletion off of Mokoena and the bar before dropping in. Stunning. Suddenly, the VUVUZELA'S stopped! Uruguay remained dominant throughout now. Forlan always came in deep and tried to inspire forward attacks and he was expertly helped by LUIS SUAREZ of Ajax FC who would be a constant menace throughout the game. Mokoena's foul gave him a bloody mouth, and finally in the 75th minute, persistance paid off as Suarez connected to a throughball with only Khune to beat in goal, who fouled him and gave away a blatent penalty. Khune was resultantly sent-off, the 5th Red Card in 17 games! and suddenly the Vuvu blowers began leaving the stadium. Forlan slammed home the penalty, 2-0, deserved, game safe. ALVARO PEREIRA added a late 3rd to rub salt into the wounds, but S.A. weren't that bad. Alvaro had a shockingly shit game though, people will only remember him for his goal. Either way, tomorrow's game in this Group is now vital as to who goes through. S.A. as I preditced will finish 4th most likely. Now its up to the French and Mexican's to show what they're made of!
