As you may recall, January will be Oh Canada-month, posting the bestest French songs from Quebec and around. Some bands make it a bit harder to spot the French gems, like Stars. (But we got Franss to spot those, bless 'm) Together with doe-eyed Amy Milan they recorded a little sad ballad - and yes, that odd buzz is intentional. This is a song about a robot, right? Song sounds a bit like Ariane Moffatt. Tips and guestposts about yer fave French-Canadian songs are welcomed.

來自加拿大蒙特利爾的五人小分隊，成員包括orquil Campbell, Chris Seligman, Amy Millan, Evan Cranley, Patrick McGee Melodramatic。我想大家不會對Amy Millan這個名字感到陌生，這位被譽為Toronto’s Best Female Singer的加拿大才女便是Stars的主唱。相對於她06年民謠味道很濃個人專輯《Honey From The Tombs 》，這張ep給我的感覺更多的是ambient，當然Amy Millan慵懶華麗的聲音依舊是我選擇聽這張的理由。所以喜歡Amy Millan的朋友一定不要錯過這張，雖然只有6首短小的作品，但內容確是比較“豐富”。簡約而不簡單

A Thread Cut With A Carving Knife - Stars

The other day, Stars threw a link to a website into a MySpace blog post that posed a lot more questions than it answered. You were met with a twinkly little piano tune, a heart with moving gears in it, and the hard-hitting query up there.

Today came the answers, in the form of an official announcement that Stars will release the Sad Robots EP on September 1. The EP will be available for digital purchase exclusively via sadrobots.ca, while limited edition physical copies can be picked up in exchange for money exclusively at dates on Stars' upcoming tour.

Sad Robots packs in five all-new tunes and a live version of an old favorite: "Going, Going, Gone", originally from 2001 release Nightsongs. Folks who visit sadrobots.ca (not to be confused with sadrobots.com) after August 31 will also have the opportunity to download that live track in MP3 form for free. Woo, free!

Stars' tour, which finds the band sharing an "all new live show" based on the Sad Robots aesthetic, kicks off September 17 in Northampton, Massachusetts.-Pitchforkmedia
