It's been one long journey for season seven winner of American Idol, David Cook. Six months and one summer tour later Cook is ready to release his first major-label debut album. First single "Light On" has already peaked to #17 on the Billboard Hot 100 thanks to digital downloads and is now begining to pick up momentum on radio. As for the album Cook teamed with record producer Rob Cavaollo who has worked with artists such as Green Day, My Chemical Romance and more. The outcome a solid alternative rock effort filled with many of Cook's great traits that lead him to his victory. David Cook is the major-label debut album (second overall) from seventh season American Idol winner David Cook. It will be released on November 18, 2008 in United States. It has produced a top twenty single, "Light On."

庫克出生於德州的休斯頓，並在密蘇里州的藍泉長大。他的父母是Beth (née Frye) 和 Stan Cook。庫克的弟弟Andrew就讀於密蘇里州立中央大學，主修小學教育專業。他的哥哥Adam同妻兒居住在印第安那州的Terre Haute。庫克的父母在他幼年離異，母親和Foraker結婚，父親則在印第安那州的印弟安納波里斯重新組織了家庭。
