樂隊名字Script(劇本)的由來：原來，樂隊成員曾經在好萊塢住過很長一段時間，在那裡大家每天談論的話題都是電影，於是樂隊決定起名Script(劇本)，以此表示他們的音樂關注的都是他們自己的日常生活。

　　保有U2、The Cranberries的搖滾風格，散發The Corrs的流行步調、Clannad的居爾特民謠曲式，成為愛爾蘭新世紀最受矚目的接班樂團The Script，更調勻屬於黑人靈魂韻味、嘻哈+節奏藍調的樂種概念，足以力拼標榜Soul Rock的Maroon 5，不思議的組合出極具討喜旋律，延伸你的聆聽廣度。

當小孩都在沉迷足球、調皮搗蛋的胡鬧時，主唱Danny O’Donaghue就花了大部分的時間在歌唱練習上；成長於混亂社區的吉他手Mark Sheehan，用音樂引導他往正途而不至於淪為街頭偷車賊；從小母親就鼓勵Glen Power試著學習一技之長，打鼓就成為他日後維生的特殊專才。尋求更多音樂發展機會的Mark和Danny，飛到美國與黑人音樂界一線製作大師/團體Rodney Jerkins、The Neptunes、Teddy Reilly、Dallas Austin合作，有了這些珍貴經驗後，兩人開始錄製DEMO，也起了組團念頭，直到遇上才華洋溢的Glen後，The Script便正式羽化成型。

　　醞釀多時的首張同名專輯《The Script》終告問世，其中打頭陣的〈We Cry〉，混搭嘻哈聲調與半饒舌的演繹，清脆吉他播弦迴盪其中，Danny利用Soulful嗓音道盡從小生長城鎮之週遭人們的點滴故事，攀上愛爾蘭榜Top9+英國金榜Top15，入選英國BBC的「Single Of The Week」；不斷宣洩如同Sting迷人頻率，滲入不過分且拿捏得宜的假音點綴，第二波感人至深的抒情小品〈The Man Who Can't Be Moved〉，描寫癡情男不願離開的默默在相識地等待女孩回到身邊，動聽十足的雙拿愛爾蘭榜+英國金榜季軍席次；專輯終於在發行首週後空降英國專輯榜冠軍！淋漓展現Pop Rock魅力的〈Break Even〉以及〈If You See Kay〉，紛獻流行和質感兼具的順暢推薦佳作；激起陣陣過癮搖擺氣流的〈Rusty Halo〉，鋪上電子/靈魂曲線輔佐，轉動跳躍無比的絕妙音色，一再陷入The Police的錯覺中；媲美Keane最拿手的鋼琴搖滾之〈Talk You Down〉與〈Fall For Anything〉，皆在The Script細膩情感醞釀下，透著首首成熟且自信的優雅。別以為三人樂團會太過單調薄弱，聽了The Script之後，你會發現原來音樂也可以這樣玩！
