索尼愛立信 (Sony Ericsson) 今天宣佈在未來四年獨家贊助網球選手瑪麗亞‧莎拉波娃 (Maria Sharapova)，讓這位備受矚目的俄羅斯網球選手成為 Sony Ericsson 第一位全球品牌大使。莎拉波娃將參與一系列以 Sony Ericsson 目標市場為主的品牌宣傳活動，在網球場外展現她迷人的魅力。
Sony Ericsson 企業副總裁與行銷最高主管 Dee Dutta 在談此次的贊助協定時表示：「Sony Ericsson 在邁向第七年的同時，品牌形象也有不少的增長，因此需要委任全球品牌大使，在競爭愈來愈激烈的市場，讓公司品牌更上層樓。Sony Ericsson 一向著重創新，不斷推出風格與實用兼備的產品，而莎拉波娃擁有卓越的成就、堅毅的決心，而且活潑動人，與我們的品牌特質非常吻合。Sony Ericsson 希望藉由莎拉波娃在全球的知名度，配合 Sony Ericsson 專業的技術與創新的構想，為世界各地的客戶提供新穎獨特的產品。」
莎拉波娃表示：「Sony Ericsson 在行動通訊產業中深受歡迎，能夠有機會與世界知名品牌合作，我覺得非常興奮。大多數人只知道我是網球選手，但除了運動以外，我也非常熱愛時裝、音樂、電影和設計，透過這次與 Sony Ericsson 的合作，我們會在各種領域中做不同的嘗試。」
這次合作延續了 Sony Ericsson在 2005 年 1 月與女子網球協會WTA簽署為期六年，贊助總額達 8,800 萬美元 (約 29 億 400 萬台幣) 的協定，是贊助女子運動歷年來最高的金額。Sony Ericsson 致力推廣女子網球，讓網球支持者更能充分體驗這項運動，Sony Ericsson 同時也走在時代的尖端，舉辦與眾不同的活動，讓更多人認識女子網球。
手機廠商愛用運動選手代言
這次索愛找了莎拉波娃當代言人，再次表現出手機廠商愛用運動選手代言的風潮。從摩托羅拉 (MOTOROLA) 在 2006 年找了足球金童貝克漢 (Beckham) 當三年的品牌代言人，明基西門子 (BenQ-Siemens) 也找了西班牙皇家馬德里足球隊主力前鋒、巴西籍明星球員羅納度 (Ronaldo Luiz Nazario de Lima) 代言，表現出這些手機品牌有多愛運動選手。
Maria Yuryevna Sharapova (Russian: Мари́я Ю́рьевна Шара́пова ) (born April 19, 1987) is a Russian professional tennis player and a former World No. 1. As of November 19, 2007, she is the fifth-ranked female player in the world. At the end of 2006, she was the world's highest-paid female athlete.
Her surname is pronounced in her native Russian with a slight stress only on the second syllable (Sharápova)[citation needed], yet English speakers in general — and American sports commentators in particular — commonly mispronounce it by stressing the third syllable (Sharapóva).
Sharapova has won two Grand Slam singles titles. In 2004, she beat Serena Williams to take the Wimbledon title at the age of 17. Two years later, she defeated Justine Henin in the final of the 2006 U.S. Open. She also reached the final at the 2007 Australian Open.
At 6'2", Sharapova is one of the tallest women currently in the women's game. Only Lindsay Davenport has been a taller Grand Slam champion in the 21st Century. Even on the men's side, only four Grand Slam champions in the 21st Century have eclipsed her height.
