Widget 是一種桌面小玩意兒，提供使用者一個簡易的介面去執行一些常常用的功能。目前提供這種小玩意兒的公司主要有Apple Dashboard, Yahoo, Google…（族繁不及備載），未來Microsoft也會推出。
和一般桌面軟體不同的是，利用XML或JavaScript寫成的Widget，雖然也有像是計算機、時鐘等傳統作業系統內含的小型工具，但它也可以讓使用者隨時取得在網路上更新的資訊，例如全球各時區時間、氣象、匯率、字典等等，完全不用打開瀏覽器經過搜尋、下載等過程。

Widget promotion network Nabbr has announced agreements with all four major record labels, to launch the Nabbr New Music Player. Each week 10 videos will be featured, allowing the 41 million monthly visitors to Nabbr's network of 180 sites to embed a video’s individual widget or the entire program into their social network profiles.

The Nabbr network consists of over 180 “social network resource sites,” where MySpace and Facebook users go to find media for their profiles.
