AKB48's Watanabe Mayu talks about landing on the cover of “Weekly Playboy”

A couple days ago, tokyohive brought you the news that AKB48’s Watanabe Mayu would be on the cover of the newly redesigned publication, “Weekly Playboy“, which provided pictures from inside the covers and details on her upcoming photobook.

Yesterday though, the idol herself commented on the cover on her blog, cutting to the chase by saying, “I am on the cover!”

She then addressed the fact that she went with a different hairstyle, saying, “It’s only the second time in my life I’ve pulled my hair back to show my forehead!”

Now if you didn’t fully recognize her in the pictorial, don’t kick yourself, because it’s apparently not a rare problem, “Nacchan blogged yesterday that she passed by the cover and didn’t know who it was! Then again, I didn’t know either!”

She concluded the entry by reminding her fans that her photobook is due to drop on May 13th.

What do you think of her new look? I thought it was a surprisingly vast upgrade.
