東京事変のドラマー刄田綴色が、2月上旬に自身が起こした事件についてオフィシャルサイトにコメントを発表した。

刄田は2月10日に警察官に体当たりしたことにより、公務執行妨害の容疑で現行犯逮捕。その後、3月14日に略式命令が下され罰金刑を受けている。

刄田は「私自身にとって東京事変という存在は音楽を続ける上で最も大切で全てを捧げているバンドです。にも拘わらず自分個人の身勝手な行動によって不本意な形でお騒がせをしてしまった事を深く反省しております」とファンや関係者に謝罪。また「今後お許しいただける限り東京事変のメンバーとして更に深く音楽を追求し努力することでお詫びの気持ちをお示ししたく思っております」と今後も東京事変のメンバーとして活動していく旨を述べている。

また東京事変の所属事務所・黒猫堂もコメントを発表。2月12日より自粛していたプロモーション活動を、4月5日より再開することを明らかにした。

Tokyo Jihen’s drummer, Hata Toshiki, has made an official comment on their website about the incident he caused in early February.

On February 10th, after assaulting a police officer, Hata was arrested on the charge of interfering with the dutes of a public servant. After that, on March 14th he was ordered to pay a fine.

Hata apologized to fans and staff, saying, “In my experience, as a band, Tokyo Jihen isn’t just about continuing to make music, but is even more about sacrificing everything. In spite of that, because of my individual selfishness, I unwillingly caused a lot of trouble, and I have been reflecting deeply upon this.”

He went on to state that he will continue his activities with the band, saying, “From now on, as much as you are able to forgive me, I hope that you will be able to accept my apologies as a member of Tokyo Jihen and as someone deeply invested in the pursuit of music.”

Tokyo Jihen’s agency, Kronekodow, also commented, stating that Tokyo Jihen, who voluntarily suspended their activities since February 12th, will resume promotions beginning on April 5th.
