An exciting collaboration!
Actress/singer Kuriyama Chiaki is going to release a new single called “Oishii Kisetsu/Ketteiteki Sanpunkan” on March 2nd, and it’s been revealed that the brilliant Shiina Ringo produced the two songs. Not only did Ringo contribute lyrics and compose the tunes, but she also threw in her band, Tokyo Jihen, to perform with Kuriyama for her live performances.

The new single will be the last of Kuriyama’s project, プロデュースシングル三部作“Produce Single Trilogy“, for which she worked with three well-known producers to produce three unique songs. Her first song, “Kanousei Girl“, was produced by Hotei Tomoyasu and was released in November of 2010. The second song, “Cold Finger Girl“, was just released on January 26th and was produced by Asai Kenichi.

Kuriyama was especially happy to get Shiina Ringo as the producer for her third single, since she’s a huge fan of her’s. She said, “If I had to name the artist I admire the most, it would have to be Shiina Ringo. For her to write the lyrics, compose the melody, and produce a song for me feels like a dream. Moreover, it’s going to be two songs!”

“Oishii Kisetsu” is said to be a bubbly and cute composition, whereas “Ketteiteki Sanbunkan” will have a robotic and bewitching vibe to it.

The two different jackets for the single have already been revealed as well, and they portray the different styles of the song. People have been pleasantly surprised about the rather sexy concept of one of the jackets.

Actress/singer Kuriyama Chiaki made a guest appearance at the music event, “Winternet’11Valentine Special Live“, held at SHIBUYA-AX on February 12th.

She performed “Cold Finger Girl” (released on January 26th), as well as her upcoming single, “Ketteiteki Sanpunkan“, which will be released March 2nd as a double-A side (“Oishii Kisetsu/Ketteiteki Sanpunkan“).

“Ketteiteki Sanpunkan” was performed using a megaphone, which is similar to the performances Shiina Ringo does at her live concerts. As we reported earlier, Kuriyama’s upcoming single was written, composed, and produced by Shiina Ringo.

Other than Kuriyama, there were also five other artists who performed at the event.
