Lead single from Adele's upcoming February 22 album 21 is a stormy, stomping soul workout - what she calls a "dark bluesy gospel disco tune" - that wisely plays up her commanding vocal presence. From a melodic structure perspective, the song is a pretty simple descendant three chorder, not a nuanced slow simmer but a full tilt, high flame burn.
