Ivy’s comeback on Inkigayo
01 Nov 2009

Ivy has now made her comeback on Inkigayo! With a sexy stage of Touch Me, she has wowed the crowd!

Guys, don't get too excited because she has ditched her sexy dress for pants. But honestly, that did not seem to stop her from looking sexy and giving her all on stage.

Not to mention, when your song gets banned from some places it might put you down but she didn't disappoint.

After her comeback on M! Countdown, I've been looking forward to seeing more of her and it seems as though my needs are getting met.

Ivy is ditching her sexy dress
31 Oct 2009

Having learned that her Touch Me music video had been banned from airing freely on television, Ivy who has just made her comeback after a two year absence, has announced that she would be ditching her sexy dress concept for her performances.

When Ivy made her comeback on M! Countdown, Ivy wore a black outfit (top right) when she was performing Touch Me. But when she was performing at her showcase a day earlier, Ivy had wore a sexy dress (top left).

The sexy dress had been chosen partly because it complemented the dance choreography or so they thought. But because of the sharp movements of the dance routine, it was near impossible to wear the dress anymore as Ivy was pictured on many occasions with her safety pants sticking out pretty conspicuously.

Associates close to Ivy had told her after the showcase, "It seems like you are revealing yourself too much with the mini dress."

Ivy said, "The dress that I wore for the showcase was the same as in the MV. I was getting pretty flustered as the dress kept moving up when I turned sharply or jumped during my dance routine. We will stick to pants in future."

As for her feelings on returning after a long absence, Ivy said, "I am nervous, just like when I first debuted. I took some pills before the showcase, but they didn't quite work."

Ivy will be performing next on Inkigayo on November 1st.

Birth name 朴恩惠 Park Eunhye (박은혜)
Ivy debuted in 2005 with the single "What Happened Tonight" (Korean: 오늘밤 일). The official second single "A ha.." was also an uptempo/R&B single; the dance routine was famously parodied by Park Kyung Lim on X-Man. Around the same time, Ivy also promoted "I Am a Fool" (Korean: 바본가봐), a ballad, which was performed in conjunction with "A ha..". The album placed 48th for the year. Although inactive for most of 2006, she has collaborated with Shinhwa for their album State of the Art on the track "Highway Star".

On February 12, 2007, Ivy's second album, Vol. 2 - A Sweet Moment, was released, with the lead single "Sonata of Temptation" featuring Wheesung, performing very well on the charts. Despite this, the song's music video has caused controversy, as it recreates a fight scene between Tifa and Loz from Final Fantasy VII Advent Children, apparently without proper permission (although a disclaimer appears on the video). In April, the Seoul Central District Court banned the music video from being shown on television, stating that "most of the clip is noticeably similar to scenes from the film". The story has received coverage on gaming blogs internationally, including Kotaku, which noted that the director has stated that he was unable to find the contact info for Square Enix.

In the summer of 2008, Ivy had a supporting role in the joint Korea-Japan mini drama series Tokyo Sun Showers as Eun Bi, an up and coming musician in Tokyo.

After a long hiatus due to a sex scandal and problems with her management company, Ivy is set to return in October 2009; she has switched management companies in the procees.
