Iconic English pop duo Pet Shop Boys
are one of those older acts whose output and zeal haven't waned in recent years. This is why we've only been forced to wait a mere three years since the release of 2006's fundamental for Yes, which was produced by Xenomania (Kylie Minogue, Girls Aloud), and features work by former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr and Owen Pallett (Final Fantasy). It's good to know that they didn't skimp on the talent.
Vocalist Neil Tennant said of the record, "[Yes is] a post-lifestyle anthem which sounds like nothing we've done before." It's good to know that Tennant has thought of a new noun to compound with "post-" but I think the "sounds like nothing we've done before" part is what the fans will really care about. ~ Matthew Richardson
