讓歌迷一等就是五年，坐擁全球超過1億7千萬銷售的超級天團U2終於宣佈將在3月發行第12張專輯【消失的地平線No Line on the Horizon】，全球都等不及提前在一月份就展開專輯預購，台灣地區的預購活動將在博客來網路書店獨家舉行！最新單曲”一起出發Get On Your Boots”將在1月22日星期四晚間8點於台灣北中南的電台聯播，全台灣的歌迷將同步感受U2的搖滾魔力!一向熱心政治與公益的主唱波諾，最近在滿檔的演唱與慈善行程中又多了一項副業，他成為美國紐約時報的專欄作家，固定為紐時撰寫專欄，內容將不設限主題，全由波諾發揮，不過波諾跨行專欄作家的處女作就發生內容寫錯的糗事，讓波諾有些尷尬。波諾過去曾幫英國的「獨立報」、美國的「浮華世界」雜誌、日本的「朝日新聞」等國際媒體擔任過一日客座編輯，而內容大都圍繞著他多年來關注的非洲與愛滋病議題，不過波諾這次常態性地擔任紐約時報的專欄作家，將不會設限主題範圍。紐約時報盛讚波諾是「對藝術與人類議題有著深刻的思考，是個了不起的人物。」波諾表示能為紐約時報撰寫專欄十分榮幸，不過他也謙虛地說：「寫作向來都不是我最擅長的事, 我會盡力而為，請大家拭目以待囉。」
即使波諾平常形象這麼好，這次跨行搶記者的飯碗，也讓一些媒體忍不住開他玩笑。波諾要當報紙作家的消息一出，就有媒體揶揄「記得提醒波諾打稿時把他招牌的大墨鏡拿掉，以免看不清楚寫錯。」果然波諾的處女作就發生內容出錯的糗事，波諾在第一篇專欄中比較兩種法蘭克辛納區演唱版本的”My Way”，卻把其中一個版本的編曲者寫錯，讓波諾的處女作美中不足，紐約時報也已在官網刊登更正過的內容。
